Wizard Beach is one of the most untouched beach outings in Bocas del Toro. It sits on the open sea side of Isla Bastimentos, with a long sandy shoreline, dense jungle behind it, and a distinctly remote feel from the moment the trail begins.

The beach feels wide, exposed, and natural. The coastline is open to the Atlantic side, the surf is often active, and the jungle edge gives the whole place a clearly wild character. This is not a serviced beach and it does not feel built up.
Wizard Beach works well for a scenic half-day outing focused on walking, taking photos, and spending time in nature. The main appeal is the contrast between Old Bank, the shaded forest path, and the broad undeveloped beach at the end of the trail. It can also attract surfers when the swell is up.
Swimming is generally not recommended. The beach is exposed to the open sea and conditions can shift quickly, with strong currents, shore break, and rough surf. There are no lifeguards and no facilities available, so water, sun protection, and return timing matter. The trail can also turn muddy and slippery after rain, and the return should be planned well before dark. It is important to keep an eye on personal belongings and not leave anything unattended, as there have been repeated cases of items being stolen. There have also been occasional incidents on the trail to Wizard Beach, so it is best not to go alone, not to carry many valuables, and to stay alert and aware throughout the walk.
Take a water taxi from Bocas Town to Old Bank on Isla Bastimentos. The ride is short and commonly costs around $5 per person each way. From Old Bank, continue on foot via the trail to Wizard Beach. In dry conditions, the walk is often around 30–40 minutes. In wetter conditions, it can take longer and feel more demanding because of mud and slippery sections.
