The Camp
Rancho Estero has been a fixture in Santa Catalina for many years, run by Zigor and Ellie, who live on-site with their two kids and are still very hands-on with the place. It sits at the end of the road to Playa Estero, right on a bluff above the beach — just a few steps down to the sand.
Lessons & Rentals
Zigor teaches the surf lessons himself, in small groups of up to 4 people, for about 1 to 1.5 hours. Afterward, board rental comes at a discounted rate. Board rentals for all levels are also available without a lesson.
Good to Know
A stand-alone lesson runs around $30–35. Lessons are given in English and Spanish.
