Why Go

The waterfall pass. Plenty of zipline courses in Panama are longer or faster than this one; almost none send you across a gorge with a 35-meter waterfall in full view. That moment is what you're paying for, and it's the reason to pick this course over the bigger adventure parks elsewhere in the country.

What to Expect

The tour starts with a guided walk of about 20 minutes up through the forest to the first platform, and the guides treat the walk as part of the tour, pointing out birds and whatever else is moving that morning. From the top it's all downhill: four lines back through the canopy, each with its own character, and the gorge crossing with the falls in view is the one you'll remember. Back at the bottom, the trail to the base of Chorro El Macho is right there, so most people finish with the waterfall.

The safety side is taken seriously. Briefings are unhurried, guides clip and check every line, and first-timers and kids get walked through it properly. If four lines sounds like more commitment than you want, there's a $20 single-line taster that crosses the Río Amarillo gorge and ends with the waterfall view.

Getting There

  • On foot: About 30 minutes from the town center, straight up the road toward La Mesa. Same walk and same entrance as Chorro El Macho.
  • By taxi: A short, cheap ride if you'd rather save your legs for the platforms.

Good to Know

  • $65 per person for the full course makes this the priciest few hours in El Valle; the $20 single-line version exists if you just want the sensation. Budget two to three hours for the full tour, faster with a small group.
  • The site closes at 4pm and the last tour usually leaves around 3pm, so this is a morning or early-afternoon plan.
  • Same-day booking at the gate usually works. On dry-season weekends (December to April), reserving ahead is the safer play.
  • Kids from age 6 can ride; the weight limit is 220 lbs, about 100 kg.
  • Closed shoes, and bring a light rain layer. It rains here even in dry season, and the tour runs anyway.
