Six bruschetta versions, garlic clams and a well-regarded double espresso at this open-air terrace across from the church on the main street. It's the most reviewed restaurant in town.

The covered terrace on the main street, wooden tables looking out over the church across the road, open-air enough that you'll hear frogs and the odd lizard over dinner. It's the place most visitors end up on their first night in El Valle, planned or not, and it's usually full.
Half a dozen bruschetta versions, mushroom, chicken, and salmon among others, open the menu, alongside garlic clams, octopus off the grill, a broad pasta list, and mains running from corvina to beef tenderloin. Portions are generous. The owner's double-shot espresso gets called out again and again by regulars as better than a mountain town has any right to serve.
The most-reviewed restaurant in El Valle by a wide margin, which also makes it the busiest: expect a wait on weekends, and go at lunch if you want the terrace to yourself. Prices sit a notch above the local spots; some visitors find that fair for the setting, others don't. Go in expecting a solid, dependable meal rather than a special-occasion one.
