Los Pibes runs as a real family operation — Pablo on the grill, Shenida hosting — with just a handful of tables and the kind of attentiveness you only get when the people cooking and serving are the ones who actually own the place. It feels more like eating at someone's house than at a restaurant, and has since 2004, when it opened as the first Argentine parrillada in Santa Catalina.
The empanadas and milanesas are the most-ordered starters, homemade burgers are on the menu too, and the firewood-grilled steak is the main event, finished with homemade chimichurri. Order red wine with an ice bucket — it tends to arrive warm otherwise. Cheesecake is the dessert to get. Groups of 7 or more should reserve ahead, and it's worth asking what the special of the night is before ordering.
Closed Wednesdays. Cash and card accepted. It's popular enough that groups should call ahead, and the family-run feel means service can run a little slow when they're full
