Pollo Rosti keeps it simple: order a quarter, half or whole chicken, served with potatoes on the side. Good for sharing, good to take away, and you'll leave full without spending much.
Our restaurant picks for every occasion, from cheap eats in Bocas Town to a table over the water on Carenero

Bocas Town has by far the highest concentration of restaurants — but the best meal of your trip might just as easily happen on Carenero, Bastimentos, or out at Bluff Beach, if you know where to look.
A short boat ride in any direction opens up a completely different side of the food scene, from waterfront tables to Caribbean kitchens right on the sand.
We've sorted our picks by the questions that actually come up when deciding where to eat:

A few restaurants are hard to file under just one category. These are the three we'd send friends to first if they only had a couple of nights in Bocas.

| BEST FOR | A proper seafood dinner |
| CUISINE | Seafood |
| PRICE | $$$ |
| LOCATION | Bocas Town |
El Último Refugio sits right over the water in Bocas Town and gets called one of the best restaurants in Bocas often enough that it's simply true. The board changes daily — some nights it's red snapper, other nights lobster or whatever came off the boat that morning, with a couple of specials chalked up alongside it. It's not a very big dining terrace, so reservations are worth making as it gets full quickly.

El Ultimo Refugio
| BEST FOR | Italian cooking with an ocean view |
| CUISINE | Italian, Seafood |
| PRICE | $$$ |
| LOCATION | Bluff Beach |
Mosana is one of the most beautiful spots on the island, right at the start of Bluff Beach and directly on the water with one of the best views around. An Italian chef runs the kitchen with his wife Nadia, and between the two of them every guest gets looked after properly. Tables are limited, so we always recommend booking ahead. Easily one of our favorite places here.

Mosana Restaurant
| BEST FOR | Indian food you didn't expect to find here |
| CUISINE | Indian |
| PRICE | $$ |
| LOCATION | Bocas Town |
OM Café has been part of the restaurant scene in Bocas Town for years, and Indian food isn't what most people expect to find on a small Caribbean island. But it belongs on this list simply because the food is incredible. The curries and naan are the reason to come, with a great varity of vegetarian dishes always on the menu too.

Om Café
Prices around the Bocas Town waterfront climb fast. For something simple that won't blow the budget, start with these three.

Local · $ · Bocas Town

Pollo Rosti
Caribbean · $ · Bocas Town
A small spot serving Caribbean-style plates at prices that make it easy to eat well without spending much. It also shows up below in our local-food picks.

Olazul
Burgers · $ · Bocas Town
Burgers and fries in a small corner of Bocas Town — the closest thing to a fast-food burger you'll find here. Cheap, solid, and does exactly what it should.

Backstreet Burger
Fresh fish shows up all over Bocas, but the setting changes a lot from place to place. El Último Refugio is still one of the best restaurants in Bocas full stop — for something simpler, but still built around fresh fish, Bibi's, Alvin or Chikita Beach are the ones to go for.

Seafood · $$ · Carenero
Bibi's on the Beach puts you at tables built right over the water on Carenero, just a three minute boat ride from Bocas Town. Casual setting, good fresh seafood, nothing fancy about it. Evenings often bring music, with live music on Sundays. Come before sunset if the view matters as much as the food.

Bibis on the Beach
Caribbean, Seafood · $ · Bastimentos
Alvin / Kecha is much more low key than the other two, right beside the water in Old Bank on Bastimentos. Almost certainly the cheapest of the three too, and not fancy at all, more of a local spot. Good seafood, no frills — an easy stop if you're already spending the day wandering around Old Bank.

Alvin / Kecha
For Caribbean-style fish, chicken, rice and beans, and patacones, these give a better sense of everyday cooking in Bocas than the international menus around the town center.

Caribbean · $$ · Outside Bocas Town
An open-air, roadside restaurant with fish, chicken and Caribbean-style plates. Casual and unfussy.

Chikita Beach
Caribbean · $ · Bastimentos
Alvin / Kecha is a good stop for real Caribbean cooking, right beside the water in Old Bank on Bastimentos. Simple, local, exactly what people here actually eat.

Alvin / Kecha
Caribbean · $ · Bocas Town
Olazul serves up proper Caribbean cooking right in Bocas Town. The chicken is the highlight, though the grilled fish holds its own too, both cooked the way people here actually make them.

Olazul
There's something about sitting at a table right over the water that just fits here — it's part of why Bocas feels the way it does. These are our favorite spots for it:

Seafood · $$ · Carenero
Bibi's on the Beach has a deck that stretches right out over the water on Carenero, facing back toward Isla Colón. Just a short boat ride from town, and one of the best spots to watch the water while you eat.

Bibis on the Beach
Vegetarian · $$ · Carenero
Leaf Eaters Café has a fully vegetarian menu, right above the water on Carenero, just a thirty second boat ride from Bocas Town. Lunch gives you the best combination of good food and the view across the channel.

Leaf Eaters Café
Café & Restaurant · $$ · Bocas Town
Shanti is a lovely place right on the water, still in Bocas Town. Great for coffee and breakfast in the morning, and later in the day there's pizza and cocktails too, so it's always worth a visit.

Shanti
Bluff Beach starts at the end of the paved road on Isla Colón. It's always worth the trip if you want more nature and quiet, and it's home to some of the most beautiful restaurants on the island.

Italian, Seafood · $$$ · Bluff Beach

Mosana Restaurant
International · $$$ · Bluff Beach
The dining room opens onto dense gardens, well away from Bocas Town. Sort out transport ahead of time — Bluff isn't where you want to be figuring out a ride home after dinner.

The Hummingbird
Beach Bar · $$ · Bluff Beach
Tables sit just back from the sand, with burgers, tacos and fried food on the menu. Works best paired with a few hours at Bluff rather than a trip just for lunch.

Bom Bom Beach Bar
A few places are built for dinner as the plan for the evening, not something squeezed in before drinks somewhere else.

Italian, Seafood · $$$ · Bluff Beach
Mosana is one of the most beautiful spots at the start of Bluff Beach, directly on the water with one of the best views on the island. The Italian chef and his wife Nadia make every guest feel special. There aren't many tables, so we recommend making a reservation. One of our favorite spots on the island.

Mosana Restaurant
International · $$$ · Bluff Beach
El Último Refugio is closer to town, which matters if you don't want to travel far. It gets called one of the best restaurants in Bocas often enough that it's just true. The menu changes, but seafood is always on it alongside a few daily specials. Right on the water — another great pick for a date night.

The Hummingbird
Seafood · $$$ · Bocas Town
Closer to town than Mosana, if you don't want to travel far for date night. Ask for a table right at the edge of the deck — the water comes right up underneath you after dark, and the board changes often enough that a second visit rarely repeats the first

El Ultimo Refugio
For a proper coffee, breakfast, or just a quiet hour during the day, these are the two we'd go to first.

Coffee, Breakfast · $$ · Bocas Town
Café Luca is a great café for the whole day. They have great breakfast (also great for a hangover), great coffee and smoothies, and food for the whole day like bowls, sandwiches and more , all at fair prices for the quality and portions you get. Right in town, so it's easy to just pass by during the day. And don't forget to try their homemade carrot cake , easily the best cake on the island.

Café Luca
Coffee, Breakfast · $$ · Bocas Town
Dosha Café sits on the paved road out toward Bluff Beach, close enough not to feel like a detour, and it's just a lovely place to start the morning. The breakfast is great — the coffee, even better.

Dosha Organic Café
Bocas isn't full of laptop-friendly cafés. Space, WiFi and how comfortable it feels to stay for hours narrow the list quickly.

Coffee · $$ · Bocas Town
Café Luca is great to sit and work, with AC, which matters on the hot days. Good food, good coffee, and everything else you'd want — our go-to spot when it's too hot to sit outside.

Café Luca
Café & Restaurant · $$ · Bocas Town
a beautiful place to sit, right next to the sea with the breeze coming off the water and a great view. Boho, friendly, good internet, nice tables, an easy place to get work done.

Shanti
Bocas has a couple of Mexican restaurants within walking distance of each other in town.

Mexican · $$ · Bocas Town
A small, central taquería focused on tacos and familiar Mexican dishes.

La Taqueria blt
Mexican · $$ · Bocas Town
A more colorful, informal setup — works well when tacos and drinks are the whole evening plan.

Pinches Hermanos
