Polo Beach feels open, undeveloped, and peaceful. The beach is long and natural, backed by dense tropical vegetation, with very few visitors.
Just before reaching the beach, there is also a small local detail that gives the place part of its character: a local man named Polo lives here in a simple hut, and the beach is named after him. He chose to live more remotely, and his hut, along with his large collection of rum bottles, is usually one of the last things you see before arriving at the beach.
Most guests reach Polo Beach by continuing on foot from Red Frog Beach, and that extra walk is exactly what keeps it quiet.
There is no infrastructure, so the beach is better suited to guests who are happy bringing what they need and spending time in a simple natural setting.
The route is not always easy to find. At the end of Red Frog Beach, go up to the road and keep left. After a short time and a small uphill section, the path passes a hotel or accommodation with a larger pool. Continue until the road ends.
At the end of the road, a small trail continues toward Polo Beach, partly across private land. The route stays more or less parallel to the coast.

The walk is not always easy and is not recommended for guests who are unsteady on their feet. In wet weather, parts of the route can become very slippery.
If planning to stay longer, bringing a flashlight is strongly recommended.
